The Torch
The Liberty Torch
The British-made Liberty Torch for The Run of Hope Liberty Torch Relay is a gift to the American people, born out of love.
LOVE that founder, Mark 7 and the people of Great Britain have for the American people.
The Liberty Torch
“The British and American people have come a long way since the American Revolutionary War. Today our bond is stronger than ever.
If two once feuding nations can unite in peace, respect, and love for one another, there’s no reason why people from every country in the world can’t do the same.”
– Mark 7
REAL LOVE
The Run of Hope Liberty Torch is a symbol of Freedom, Liberty, and Love—a powerful symbol of unity and shared purpose.
The Liberty Torch is made out of:
- Steel: Representing inner strength.
- Copper: Representing connection between people.
- 24-Carat Gold: Representing success and divinity.
The Inspiration
The Statue of Liberty is a colossal neoclassical sculpture on liberty Island in New York harbour. It was modelled after Libertas the Roman Goddess of freedom (who yields The Liberty Torch to symbolise enlightenment) and the Roman Sun God Sol Invictus (Unconquered, Invincible Sun).
The statue of liberty’s official name is:
“Liberty Enlightening the World.”
The Statue of Liberty is known as a symbol of freedom. The broken shackles and chains beneath her right foot represent marching forward away from oppression and slavery.
The Statue of Liberty was a gift from the people of France to the American people. It was made to celebrate American freedom and the alliance between America and France during the American Revolution.
The Liberty Torch is a beacon of hope. When people arrived at Ellis Island in New York Harbour many years ago, the first thing they saw was Lady Liberty holding aloft her Liberty Torch.
It gave hope to millions of people.
Hope for a better life and hope for a better world.
